You will fall in love with this restored Greek revival mansion on the banks of the Oneida River just 12 miles from Syracuse in Central New York. The 1818 Schroeppel Homestead, now known as River Edge Mansion was home to the first school room in the area and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The Mansion's fascinating history includes the legend of a French princess and its builder George Casper von Schroeppel, an instrumental founder of the Erie Canal.
This lovely old home has been restored to display its original charm and elegance and retains original moldings, interior window shutters, a tin ceiling, a cherry ceiling and five fireplaces. Four beautifully appointed guestrooms furnished with fine antiques and oriental rugs will warm the hearts of the most discerning guest.
In the Oneida River and Seneca River rooms you will find comfortable
king size beds, with fluffy down alternative comforters and fine linens. Double whirlpool tubs in these rooms will provide romance and relaxation. If you choose the Oneida River room, a coffee tray left just outside your door will brighten your early morning. Enjoy lazy mornings watching yachts and boats float by from the Seneca River room. The Oswego River room is cozily comfortable with an antique queen bed and a lovely large bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub/shower. Amenities, such as TVs with DVD players, robes, blow dryers, shampoos, shower gels and lotions are provided to make your stay relaxing and comfortable. A nice selection of books, magazines and videos is available for your use. The mansion has both central air-conditioning and romantic fireplaces. A microwave, refrigerator and Keurig coffee maker allow you to make yourself at home. Wi-Fi is available throughout the B&B. A complimentary glass of wine, coffee or tea and a charcuterie board or sweet treat is offered upon arrival.
Private docking is offered on the Oneida River with water and electricity hookup. Dock your boat and join us for breakfast and dinner! Captain Steve will happily take you for a riverboat cruise aboard our canal boat the Ella C. Or join us for a two and a half hour dinner cruise through Lock 23 or to the river village of Phoenix while enjoying a delicious dinner grilled on the boat.

This Stately Greek Revival Mansion is currently listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The 4200 sq. ft. von Schroeppel Homestead has been lovingly restored in full detail. Many of the original features still exist. This nearly 200 year old structure has five marble and stone fireplaces, wood spindle staircases, pocket doors, and a tin ceiling remain as well as exquisite hand-carved moldings and cornices. Policy Modifications
River Edge Mansion Bed & Breakfast may amend this Privacy Statement from time to time in order to meet changes in the regulatory environment, business needs, or to satisfy the needs of our guests, properties, strategic marketing partners, and service providers.
A valid credit card is required to confirm your reservation. You will be charged $50 for each date/room to hold your reservation. Notice of cancellation must be received one week prior to arrival date, or three weeks prior to holiday and special weekend reservations. If you cancel within a week (three weeks for holiday weekends) or you fail to arrive, your card will be charged the entire amount of your stay. We will make every effort to re-book the room, and if we are successful, the charges will be refunded.
